Bhagavad Gita – Chapter 9 -  1-10

In Chapter 9, Krishna begins revealing the most confidential wisdom — the heart of the Gita. He speaks about devotion, the eternal nature of God, and how the world continues to exist through His divine presence. This is the Raja Vidya — the King of all Knowledge.

📜 Shloka 1

श्रीभगवानुवाच —
इदं तु ते गुह्यतमं प्रवक्ष्याम्यनसूयवे ।
ज्ञानं विज्ञानसहितं यज्ज्ञात्वा मोक्ष्यसेऽशुभात् ॥1॥

English Translation:
The Blessed Lord said: I will now declare to you the most secret knowledge, combined with direct realization. Knowing this, you shall be freed from all misfortune.

भगवान ने कहा: अब मैं तुझसे यह परम गुह्य ज्ञान, विज्ञान सहित कहूंगा, जिसे जानकर तू समस्त अशुभों से मुक्त हो जाएगा।

English Translation:
This is the King of Sciences and the Supreme Secret — it is pure, uplifting, eternal, easy to practice, and directly experienced.

यह ज्ञान राजविद्या, राजगुह्य, पवित्र, उत्तम, प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव योग्य, धर्म में स्थित, सुखदायक और अविनाशी है।

📜 Shloka 3

अश्रद्धधानाः पुरुषा धर्मस्यास्य परन्तप ।
अप्राप्य मां निवर्तन्ते मृत्युसंसारवर्त्मनि ॥3॥

English Translation:
Those who lack faith in this dharma do not attain Me, O Arjuna, and return to the cycle of birth and death.

हे परंतप! जो पुरुष इस धर्म में श्रद्धा नहीं रखते, वे मुझे नहीं प्राप्त करते और मृत्यु के चक्र में लौट जाते हैं।

📜 Shloka 4

मया ततमिदं सर्वं जगदव्यक्तमूर्तिना ।

English Translation:
By My unmanifest form, I pervade this entire universe. All beings are in Me, yet I am not in them.

मेरी अव्यक्त मूर्ति से यह सम्पूर्ण जगत व्याप्त है। सब प्राणी मुझमें स्थित हैं, परंतु मैं उनमें स्थित नहीं हूँ।

न च मत्स्थानि भूतानि पश्य मे योगमैश्वरम् ।
भूतभृन्न च भूतस्थो ममात्मा भूतभावनः ॥5॥

English Translation:
Yet beings are not in Me! Behold My divine mystery. Though I support all living beings and cause them to exist, I am not part of them.

प्राणी मुझमें नहीं हैं — यह मेरी दिव्य योगशक्ति को देख! मैं सबको धारण करता हूँ, फिर भी उनसे अप्रभवित हूँ।

यथाऽऽकाशस्थितो नित्यं वायुः सर्वत्रगो महान् ।
तथा सर्वाणि भूतानि मत्स्थानीत्युपधारय ॥6॥

English Translation:
Just as the mighty wind, moving everywhere, always rests in space — so all beings rest in Me.

जैसे वायु सर्वत्र गति करने के बाद भी आकाश में स्थित रहती है, वैसे ही सभी प्राणी मुझमें स्थित हैं — ऐसा समझ।

You live in God like a wave lives in the ocean — you’re never outside it.

सर्वभूतानि कौन्तेय प्रकृतिं यान्ति मामिकाम् ।
कल्पक्षये पुनस्तानि कल्पादौ विसृजाम्यहम् ॥7॥

English Translation:
O Arjuna, at the end of a cycle, all beings merge into My nature, and at the beginning of a new cycle, I create them again.

हे कौन्तेय! कल्प के अंत में सभी प्राणी मेरी प्रकृति में लीन हो जाते हैं, और कल्प के आरंभ में मैं उन्हें फिर से उत्पन्न करता हूँ।

प्रकृतिं स्वामवष्टभ्य विसृजामि पुनः पुनः ।
भूतग्राममिमं कृत्स्नमवशं प्रकृतेर्वशात् ॥8॥

English Translation:
Taking control of My own nature, I manifest the universe again and again — all beings act under the influence of My nature.

न च मां तानि कर्माणि निबध्नन्ति धनञ्जय ।
उदासीनवदासीनमसक्तं तेषु कर्मसु ॥9॥

English Translation:
These actions do not bind Me, O Arjuna. I remain detached from them — like one indifferent, unattached to the results.

हे धनञ्जय! ये कर्म मुझे नहीं बाँधते, क्योंकि मैं उन कर्मों में उदासीन और अनासक्त रहता हूँ।

मयाध्यक्षेण प्रकृतिः सूयते सचराचरम् ।

Under My supervision, nature gives birth to all moving and non-moving beings. O Arjuna, through this, the universe revolves.

मेरे अधिपत्य में ही प्रकृति समस्त चर और अचर को उत्पन्न करती है। हे कौन्तेय! इस कारण से संसार का चक्र चलता रहता है।
